Regional author.

If you've ever been to Boundary Waters and like local scenery in your fiction, check out William Kent Krueger 's books for a light read. Boundary Waters and Thunder Bay were good, and the first of the series -- Iron Lake-- has kept me flipping pages here the past few days.

I like protagonists who do things, especially in outdoors settings. You don't get much of that in today's books, but as the means of publishing diversify, surely more doors will open to outsiders?
