On ... "Eat Your Peas".

No, no, no.

The way to get children -- or other decliners -- to eat their veggies is not to compare the task to ripping off a Band Aid. (even though, for those of us who survived the Bactine-before-bandaiding era, pulling it off later is nothing compared to the early-on sting...)

But I digress.
If you have fresh picked peas in the pod, at their optimal stage of ripeness, they generally taste sweet. Have that satisfying "snap!" when you crunch into them. Kids want to eat more than one... especially if you let them play with their food, pulling the strings from the pod, etc.

If you have to threaten, and compare it to something painful, you're not doing it right. Try a bit of honey (not necessary on peas, I promise), or find a fresher crop.

Same goes for the speechwriters.
That one sure wilted fast...
