Fear Mongering.

Eh. More "boogedy-boogedy!" over on Goldblog.
I guess it pays his bills...

Terror Attacks to Make You Really Worried
...
Three attacks, in particular, I worry
could have such world- changing effects. A plot against the Dome of the Rock is one.

Another would be an attack inside the U.S. of the kind that just took place in Norway -- an assault by a white, Christian* extremist agitated by the imagined specter of worldwide Muslim domination, either against a government target, in the Oklahoma City and Oslo manner, or against a Muslim target.

A deadly attack prompted by anxiety about the building of mosques, for instance, would do irreparable harm to America's image as a diverse and welcoming refuge, and could trigger the clash of civilizations extremists (both anti-Muslim Americans and anti-American Muslims) so desperately seek.

Is this a possibility? Spend time on websites devoted to stopping the coming invasion of the American court system by Muslim law -- an invasion that exists only in the febrile minds of anti-Muslim agitators -- or visit the sites devoted to keeping mosques out of places like Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It's not hard to imagine that an unstable person with access to explosives would try to carry these campaigns to their logical conclusions.

Personally, I'd recommend staying off the obscure websites, and getting outside more with the kids, Mr. Goldberg.

"Only thing you have to fear..." and all that American history goodness. Might not sell columns, but surely you'll sleep better, and be a more productive citizen in the long run?

We're really not all in this together,** when push comes to shove. Don't forget that. It's a good thing really.

-------------------
* So Goldblog is confidently concluding that the Norway killer was a "Christian". Nope. Misidentified. See, that's why we're not all so worried... We know Christ's love. That killing, that was not Christ's love, and I hate to break it to all you non-believers, but he just wasn't the shaggy-haired killer some seem to imagine***...
Fear not, and maybe, read the Book a bit more? You'll likely find better answers, and solace for all your earthly worries. Don't Fear the Christians, at least.

** Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's crippling to take on the troubles of others, or bankrupting, if you prefer to look at it that way. Brother's keeper is fine in private practice, but it never should be government policy, domestic or foreign policy.

*** And I usually hate to bring these things up, but tit-for-tat's fair game, and Goldblog's started it, right? Tell me, Jared Loughner, and the man who cut up the little Orthodox boy's body after he was done with him: Jews or not?

Should we all be a-fearin' a crisis in that religion now, in case for whatever reason, the young men in that demographic are going loco, "agitated by the imagined specter of worldwide evangelical Christian domination?"

What? Me worry?
Trust me, that's the attitude all American Christians and Jews ought to be taking now. Not mixing up an individual characteristic of a killer with the group as a whole. It seems to me, that's how Israel got herself into the neighborhood mess she now finds herself in, in the first place.

Sometimes, your own beliefs and fears indeed become self-fulfilling, especially when there's "pre-emptive" actions involved...
