London: No guns to cling to.

This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there is over here

So you scream from behind your door
Say what's mine is mine and not yours
I may have too much but I'll take my chances

I've never been a pro-Brit kinda girl. The artificial pretense and the pompous traditions never blinded me to the inhumane effects their actions have on people, real people. Give me "simple and honest" over complex false sophisticates, any day. Measure on merit, not ingrained class titles and bloodlines, and I'll point you to the stronger people.

You want the legacy of the colonial attitude -- it's out there fully for all of us to see... You can only meddle in other people's countries so long, it seems. America would be wise to heed the lesson, but we're looking to teachers who see countries like Israel as allies, as they swipe their way to success with volunteer American troops sitting on protection alert in the region, for how long?, as long as they need us there to back them up on the consequences of their actions, it seems. Might be a long long time. Israel seems emboldened by America's close presence, tucking them in safely at night, it seems...

Nope. Best not to seize power that way, it's only temporary you see. Best to be oneself, live off one's own labor, and kneel to no man.

Still, some in America worship the Brits. Difference between what's happening over there and what would happen in some parts over here ... is that Second Amendment.

And a history, thankfully, of knowing independence.
Not all, some former slaves still struggle with the concept, it seems. Some self shackle, in other ways. Some mistake wealth and cursory power for independence. Their loss.

Still, no matter how bad things get under this current administration -- he was preaching the right words. Change. Except he couldn't deliver, this junior senator from Illinois who came up in a unique political environment continually being exposed as corrupt, simply for how they play the game there.

Some say we'll see an ATTACK MITT route, to go along with the "Those Were The Days" insider access movies about the Navy SEALS, pre-helicopter crash. Absent the rest of the story, that one day in the way surely would make any red-blooded patriot want to pound his chest, no?

And come September: we'll get a full-blown opportunity to re-exploit the victims of 9-11, who -- a full decade later, are only now starting to get on with the rest of their lives it seems. (I'm sure the victim publicity and fundraising campaigns delay true inner healing.)

So here it comes then.
Another election -- the only time in American political life where and when the stakes really matter, it seems.

Anyhoo -- enjoy your vacation this summer Mr. President. I'm glad the poor economy, and wipeout of years of savings, hasn't caused you and yours to cut back. That would just reflect poorly on us as a country, not just on you for needing the rest and relaxations from ... a full schedule of recent meetings and briefings it seems. (Don't forget those daily economic briefings. That must be exhausting just listening to all that bad news, even in the abstract with no human details attached.) That really must tire one out, especially when nothing in your junior senator political career has prepared you for hard times. Tut tut.

ADDED:
Heck, it seems even the media elite are catching on... or pretending to, at least.

I wonder if -- in all our upcoming pageantry to 9-11 -- anyone is going to diagnose the root cause in the region, and one potential way of getting out and still assuring all the players in the region preserve peace, within well-regulated boundaries.

Mr. Obama promised, but clearly he's not up to the task. But in time, someone will step up, with the courage and conviction to address this one:

The issue of Israeli housing construction in disputed territory is particularly explosive in East Jerusalem, which Israel annexed after capturing it from Jordan in the 1967 war. Israel’s government has said it regards all of Jerusalem as its capital. But the Palestinians have said they consider East Jerusalem part of a future Palestinian state.

Maybe if we work on it now, we won't have to feign so much surprise and disappointment when the next explosions come?
