And here's David Brooks, new Biden fan...

linking over to Ez at Vox. (*sigh*)
Independence, fellas, independence... not advocacy talking points.

Promises of change, but no concrete details or timelines.
How 'bout instead of cheerleading Biden, asking yourself honestly David:  If Barack Obama promised change and could not deliver, what makes you think a more aged, and demonstrably slower, Joe Biden will be in there working the Congress, getting bills passed, and effectively creating change?

(Ask yourself: what incentive do establishment Dems really have to change a system they are profitting so much under now? They don't. Hence the Biden choice, which locks us into promises of Change to come in the future... "ooh, chile, things are gonna be easier. oohooo, child, things'll brighter..." ... but never gets around to delivering in reality...)

Down deep, we all know that Joe Biden is still the same candidate we saw in the debates, in the townhalls,on the trail, and referenced in the impeachment hearings (he never bothered to ask Hunter what was going on in Ukraine, really?)

I just don't buy that smart fellas like Ez and David are putting their faith in a candidate Biden, even if he is bankrolled now by Bloomberg and the new Dem party thinks they can buy a coalition to elect him.  No makeover, no matter how expensive, is going to permanently change who Joe Biden is.

Sorry, but that's the truth from an independent thinker with a pretty solid track record. I'm just not a nice Jewish guy with connections, networking within the tribe. And David?

Americans are never doomed. We're the most blessed country in the world.  You're right:  systematic change will come, one way or another (at the ballot box, demographically, or financially), as the upper-class like Brooks confronts the reality that indeed... Divided We Fall.

Sorry but I just can't accept Joe ("smile when you say that, you dog-faced pony soldier!") Biden as the national unity candidate America needs at this time.  The Dem establishment indeed chose poorly, and even with the big coordinated media push, I don't see that passion to elect him is there in November.

(Did you fellas ever think -- and I hate to be the cynic here -- that the recent outstanding numbers coming in for Joe Biden in the primaries won't be there for him in November.  Lots of "Trumpians" are able to cross over and vote for either party's candidates in many states, and I suspect they did just that.  To these eyes, Joe Biden is one of the weakest ones to face Trump this fall. Joe Biden is going to embarrass himself, and his supporters, again and again before November unless they put him in full-time quarantine. Goodluck, media, riding your chosen pony til Fall.  There's only so much spin can do when we have easy access to audio and video now.  Ask Chuck.)

Biden’s Rise Gives the Establishment One Last Chance

If he fouls this up, we’re doomed.

I don’t know about you, but the election results this week filled me with more hope than I’ve felt in years. It felt like somebody turning down the volume.
The angry and putrid shouting that has marked the last four years — and that would mark a Trump vs. Sanders campaign — might actually come to an end. Suddenly we got a glimpse of a world in which we can hear each other talk, in which actual governance can happen, in which gridlock can be avoided and actual change can come.
"Dree-eee-eam, dream dream dream dream, dreeee-eeeeam...." *
As Ezra Klein pointed out in Vox, Sanders tried to win over the Democratic Party by attacking the Democratic Party and treating its leaders with contempt. In fact, some Sanders surrogates are attacking Biden’s skill in building coalitions as a sign of evil elitism, as something only those nasty insiders do.
Coalition building.  That's what they're calling shady backroom deals these days...  Silly insiders. They never learn in time.

*Speaking of dreams, did y'all catch the promise Joe made to the Dreamers in his victory speech, promising them all citizenship?  We voters sure heard that out here.  Wonder how the media will spin that, and whether the poor "kids" will be disappointed once again when Biden alone cannot deliver...

I don't think amnesty, or encouraging people to illegally bring their non-citizen children here as babies, has grown more popular amongst most American voters in recent years, but maybe Ez and David and the media fellas know something I don't ?
