Summer Session Essay Prompt for the Day

Something to think of when you're out in the fields today picking beans:)

Are Capitol Police Officers in Washington DC more like museum security guards in their typical daily job duties, or more like the cops we think of investigating and preventing crimes where we live?  Physically, how do the job duties differ? How are they they same, using physical presence and deterrence?  What sources have you read, or heard, that have informed your writings?

(Students who are "too close to the subject" -- ie/ with a parent or sibling serving with the Capitol Police may request another assignment if their personal bias might override complex examination of the topic.    Children/victims/etc. of general law enforcement may write on the topic if they choose to bring specialized knowledge to bear, or may request another topic as well.)

Happy writing, happy week!
