 The psychological contrast is that the Cuban Missile Crisis was between two undisputed superpowers in their prime vying for the domination of the world, while the present crisis involves a has-been loser whose girlfriend is leaving him. Mainline deterrence theory didn’t anticipate the murder-suicide scenario.

Now nobody driving the car from the back seat is gonna break out in tears and act surprised if we/America help incite a nuclear war and innocents are killed, right?

If that's gonna be your attitude -- that those deaths are horrible and should have been prevented and oh the horror! -- then we need to turn this car around right NOW, and head back home.  

Nobody wins a nuclear war, especially not the Bigs financing it.  That would be US. #NotInMyName #BetterWaysToMakeABuckBuddy
