"With Friends Like These..."
you know the rest of that saying...
Tom Friedman in today's international NYT advocates U.S. taxpayers help Benjamin Netanyahu to provide "advanced weapon systems" to... Saudi Arabia. *head slam on the desk*
Dear Lord, please help us to retire these types of Israel-advocate-columnists in America... and soon. The people of the free world -- the women, children and civilian vulnerables -- do not need "help" via advanced weapon systems being provided to Saudi leaders.... Why can't these fools see it? Where is the diversity to check these viewpoints in allegedly American newspapers? (Still no women qualified to opine on foreign policy, huh? Just social giggles, I guess?)
Friedman, envisioning Benjamin Netanyahu writing a pen-pal letter to U.S.President Joe Biden:
Joe, Joey, my old friend,
...You and I, Joe, we can make history together. Let’s join our forces not to simply deter Iran’s nuclear capabilities, but to help — in any way possible — the Iranian protesters trying to topple the clerical regime in Tehran. And let’s, you and me, forge a peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. M.B.S. is ready if I can persuade you to give Saudi Arabia security guarantees and advanced weapons...
Friedman speaking for himself:
I applaud both foreign policy goals...
He gets it right with his last line though...
[U.S. working taxpayers] are not going to be Netanyahu’s useful idiots and just sit in silence...
Be careful whose voters you are courting, Mr. Friedman. In the United States, women are still free, and we vote. We don't like Jewish men trying to dominate us anymore than we support giving weapons to Saudi Arabia, or using our dollars to "help" Iranians overthrow their government. MYOB. If you're an American first, act like one? Advocate for OUR people -- women too -- over misogynist nations that would try to divide up the masses into gender, racial and ethnic divides.
We don't need that trouble here, in our country. The UNITED states of America. Sometimes, other nations just gotta work things out on their own dimes and time: a massive influx of weaponry allegedly demonstrating might and muscle need not be sent. Remember everyone: Tom Friedman was one of those pundits back then -- still empowered by the MSM today -- who advocated attacking Iraq for allegedly being the main perpetrators of the September 11th attacks on our own people, our own country...
How wrong do you have to be until you are fired at that newspaper already? Are there no grown-ups in charge anymore?
Me, mimicking: "Let’s join our forces not to simply deter Iran’s nuclear capabilities, but to help ... give Saudi Arabia security guarantees and advanced weapons..."
Stupid is as stupid does. You must think the women, and men, working hard and voting in America today are stupid, Tom. Who the heck do you surround yourself with that gives you that idea? Weak women, foolish dames?? *shaking my head at the stupidity of man...* They just don't get it... until it is too late, and costs others -- innocents especially -- their lives, nevermind their freedoms. Enough already!
