I pity where this narrative is taking us in this country:  no wonder we need the TradMen to protect us sillies...  (Please, make the men at least earn their power. Don't abdicate this easily all the progress we have made?  The Men really aren't all that, even with the testosterone really.  Together, if we don't fall under their false narrative spells, we can compete honestly Joyce.  Maybe not you as an individual (I never like your writing myself) but collectively... the WhiteMen really don't have a supernatural power, and truth be told?  They are getting lazy in their "work" too.  Plenty of women are specialty readers.  Let's just say reading  The Great Gatsby does not a Fitzgerald reader make.  Get into the canon already.  If you want to know Fitzgerald, you have to read the short stories and the biographies. Make the time. You know what Edmund Wilson Cyril Connelly said about that baby pram in the hall... ;-)

are there instances of women becoming obsessed with historic events? definitely a male preoccupation with certain phases of history (Civil War, Nazis, Hitler) & reenactments of battles. women may obsess over reading, music & dance, kitties, doggies, clothes, gardening, men.
