Democrats v. Republicans. GoBlue v. GoRed
The problem with "taking out the top guy on the other team" to win -- whether in political campaigns, or other people's civil wars -- is another monster always rises to the top. Didn't you people ever play King of teh Hill on the snow piles in your northern hometowns waiting for the bus?
It was vicious up there. You topple the top guy, only to find somebody else at your back. The slicker the snowsuit the better you could scramble and duck out of holds, but I digress...
The media clearly is hoping Donald Trump won't be the Republican front-runner. They want Barrabas DeSantis. Can Joe Biden beat Ron DeSantis, head to head? I would not put money on that.
The problem is: Joe Biden was sold, once, as the "last chance to stop Donald Trump!" The Democratic party bought in, and the crisis was averted.. Now, four years later, it won't work again.
The Dems, and the media, had plenty of time to not find themselves in the pickle they were in last go around: uniting behind an unpopular former Senator who did not have the political strength to win in the primaries before some backdoor dealings in South Carolina saw the party unite to pressure other younger people to ... "drop out" and throw the race to good old Joe.
They want us to make the magic happen again... to vote Democratic with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at the helm in wartime as our strong national leaders and commanders-in-chief? They haven't earned that kind of respect though.
It's not about the economy, stupid.
Things are only "predictable" like that until things Change, and the once highly touted Clinton wisdom no longer holds true. It's not the economy that people will be voting on this go-around, because nobody feels secure enough -- even the well invested and well to do -- to let down their guard here at home.
I can't explain that to you if you're not living it. That's America today. Everybody looking out for their own, and insecure at what is coming. It's built into the system -- the endless "competition" over community for survival. The arming up to protect your interests. (not me) The fears of Others. The call for punitive retribution (lock up the homeless for being poor. Drug up the mentally ill to be more compliant. Harm Others before they harm us...)
It's no way to live, and we won't live that way here.
Change is coming. Democrats are currently in power, and Americans like change.
We will topple the King of the Hill, viciously if needed and in packs, but beware who ends up standing when the scrapping is done...
I doubt it will be either Donald Trump or Joe Biden. They're big and old like that. Youth and energy works better in leadership. You'd think the Dems would have picked up on that with all their Diversity spiel.
