Does God Control History?

That's a pretty basic one for theologians:  No. He gives Man Free Will to make choices that affect history.  He's not doing the choosing for us.  Next?

(I won't bother to link since Ross is having another of his theoretical arguments on the Times newspaper platform:  a carryover from a Twitter debate with an anonymouse person with Perverted in their handle.  How in the world do Ross and David Brooks get away with such loosey-goosey factless opining on their favored theoretical topics, in a mainstream albeit intellectual East coast newspaper?  They are too Big to Have Editors, it seems but nobody is Too Big to Fail.)

Newspaper readers are turned off to topics like these on our editorial pages, instead of honest discussion of current news events.  These guys have other outlets for their navel-gazing.  It's not appealing to mass readers. hth. You can only run on your brand-name for so long without keeping up the standards of what made you that brand in the first place... "Stars" like Ross and David take attention away from other writers, who are trying to address current events, and not show off their professorial chops in newsprint.
