Chaz Bono for Supreme Court?

What's up with that?

And for what it's worth? I think the Administration ought to tread mighty carefully if indeed they are touting a closeted nominee.

You see, for years, people have argued -- successfully -- that the military need keep out homosexual soldiers and desk employees because of a heightened risk of blackmail. Especially in key leadership positions.

If somebody's got dark secrets -- so dark that continued career advancement necessitates they be kept secret -- chances are they aren't the best person for the job, owing allegiance to other hidden aspects of their personalities, families and personal lives.

Not sure I buy that argument myself, but nevermind, it's the official policy of the U.S. military. Now why should the justice system -- the highest legal office in the land -- be playing on a different track? Either teh gays are threats in the top positions, particularly if they need to hide to advance leadership careers, or they aren't and there's no need to commit perjury in denying allegations.

This identity politicking ... the sooner we get off this track, the better.

Multiplurist American
