A New Narrative.

Faisal Shahzad ... the struggling homeowner.

The arrested subject of last weekend’s Times Square bomb plot is a homeowner in the midst of foreclosure.
...
The hearts of men are opaque, and motives are complex. But it's a reminder that foreclosures generate an enormous amount of misery and anxiety and depression that can tip people into all sorts of dangerous behaviors that don't make headlines but do ruin lives. And for all that we've done to save the financial sector, we've not done nearly enough to help struggling homeowners.

Is this guy for real?

*shaking my head*

ADDED:
The comments are heartening:
"...we've not done nearly enough...." Comical, almost a parody. He also frequented Craigslist and ate nachos. hmm.

Mr. Klein, have your little friend also look into the possibility that he had a preexisting condition not covered by insurance, that his COBRA ran out, that he was asked to show papers while "takin' his kid out for ice cream," or that he was distraught by greenhouse gases over Pakistan.

Wow, Scooby Doo! I'm sure right now Faisal's muttering to himself, "Ahh, if weren't for those pesky geniuses at WaPo and MSNBC, I might have successfully blamed my antics on jihad! Now the whole secret sect of bomb-deploying, former home owners' plot is foiled! Foiled I tell ya. Lol.

UPDATE: All the educated young'uns seem to be mimimizing Shahzad's alleged crimes: "a guy who strapped some firecrackers to a bag of non-explosive fertilizer".

I don't get it. Because the attempt was unsuccessful, and the guy had personal/financial troubles, this isn't a big deal and he deserves sympathy? Sheesh. Misplaced priorities.
