First Snow Expected Tonight ...
Could we be so lucky? To awaken to a clean white covering -- 5 inches, they are calling for -- and the promise of fresh world outside...
Ever winter, we wait for this day.
And potentially, a Saturday morning at that!
This year, I've got the new car, and sprung for a $50 garage/storage unit down the road. So she is backed in and dry, and the Corsica at 210K+ miles and the new tires sits ready to keep giving more, locally...
She is the Giving Tree of cars, it seems.
And I want to keep the new one sheltered, maybe even parked for the winter duration,* after the holiday traveling is through...
The money saved in temporarily turning off the non-comprehensive (theft, damage) insurance will pay for the monthly storage costs...
Plus for winter maintenance, I can just take her out and run the engine -- no driving needed -- as the unit borders an open field. (In the nicer weather, with the bay door up, for $50/month, it's a nice quiet and open place to be. Month-to-month lease, but I could see keeping it in summer too...)
Well, my Friday night thoughts are wandering here. Btw, I've learned my email has also been compromised, so if anyone is getting odd links from me, please delete the spam... Not sure how that gets past the spyware/malware.

* Is anyone else following the two Chad's quarterback shuffling in Miami? The Dolphins are choosing between Pennington/Henne, and playing for today v. what some see as planning for the future. Pennington seems smarter to me, and not necessarily because of age either.
But that's not my call; with a Sunday game against Tennessee (Randy!, gettin' in...), and then Chicago also at home next Thursday, you wonder if the offense will be stepping up anytime soon, and if Cameron Wake's continuing pursuit of NFC quarterbacks will lead a strong defense to make it easier on the offense to just carry out -- efficiently -- the basic ground-gaining plays.
In Weeks 10 and 11 of a 17-game season, the next two will be telling, no?
