Why you can't trust partial NewMedia coverage.

Not because they're biased in what they report. No, not 't all...
It's just, there were no engraved invatations extended. And that venue -- ewww.* Try the Kohl Center next time, Tea Partiers. We'll stick with covering the hippie kids chanting in the Capitol.

So says the pretty law professor, and her videotaping honey:

MSM coverage:
As the protesters filled the Capitol Square through the weekend, Tea Party supporters had their own rally Sunday at the Alliant Energy Center. Several hundred Walker supporters attended while many anti-Walker critics demonstrated outside.

Madison law professor(+ husband helper):
"I didn't even know about that event. And I'm paying way more attention than the average person. I guess we're paying attention in a different way — going to the Capitol and seeing what the people who go there are doing, rather than checking for celebrity appearances and events. If we'd have noticed, we'd have felt some pressure to show up. Fortunately, it escaped us and we didn't get sucked into the dreary convention hall."

* Imagine if Christiane Amanpour, say, was afraid to get her shoes a little dirty in covering a story, and let that direct her reporting. Think of what news consumers would be missing in getting true, on-the-ground coverage from the region -- often gritty in a real-life-happening-here kinda way.

Thank heavens for big girls. Because tea parties and drum thumpers are kiddie play really, compared to what's taking place out there in the world these days. (Not that you'd expect anything more from self-proclaimed NewMedia, operating down the street from a sheltered, college campus. The downside to 'an army of davids', indeed.)

Make it a great Fat Tuesday, folks! Enjoy yourselves, eh?
