Echoes of Terri Schiavo. *bump from 5/19/2012

Remember her?
Her siblings and biological family fought to keep the woman alive so that they could continue caring for her after her husband had deemed her condition hopeless and moved on with his life, creating a new family for himself and all.

Legally, I understand why it played out the way it did.
Morally? I think the man should have simply divorced himself legally from her, as he effectively did in real life, and let her real family take charge of her care.

Now, the estranged, already moved on Robert Kennedy Jr. is playing the grieving husband after his wife killed herself in recent days...

What an asshole.

Will he bring his new girlfriend to the funeral?
Will his little sister shut up already about revealing personal details of her late sister-in-law's and alleged "best friend"'s life? (Hint Kerry: Looking at the way things turned out, perhaps you weren't such a good friend after all.)

I say, if you're divorced in all but name only, if you've effectively abandoned your wife -- to her debilitating illness, personal demons or whatever -- you oughtn't act as though you're a stand-up husband who simply wants the best for your wife.

Polygamy isn't legal. No man can serve two masters. Once you move on, and start loving others, to the point of even impregnating them, it's game over. Or should be. (remember how this started: Mary Richardson was 6 months pregnant when Bobby Jr. obtained his divorce from his first wife, permitting him to legally marry the boarding school buddy of kid sister Kerry, who probably thought she was doing the lady a favor helping "make her a Kennedy" or some other such grand liberal dream for little girls...)

Know who this Kennedy man reminds me of?
Prince Charles. Entitled, libidinous, and callous in not seeing how stupid he looks here.

American royalty, indeed.

The battle for Mary Kennedy’s body began just hours after a housekeeper found her dead body and called the cops.

The couples’ four children — Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden, who range in age from 11 to 17 — were not at the house when she killed herself.

Bobby Kennedy was already at the mansion his wife helped redesign when two of the doomed dark haired beauty’s grieving siblings came by. Instead of inviting the siblings in, Bobby told them to leave.

A son of slain Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, Bobby hadn’t even lived in the mansion since May 2010, when he filed for divorce. Mary’s kin, part of a brood of seven that had known RFK’s children since they were teenagers, were forced to make a formal request to the Bedford police to get inside their sister’s house.

They returned again Thursday to try and retrieve some of her personal papers.

By that point, Bobby Kennedy had already made funeral plans — without consulting them.

So Mary’s brother, Thomas Richardson, went to court in White Plains and filed a motion to block Bobby Kennedy from taking their sister’s body.

Supreme Court Justice Joan Lefkowitz turned them down Friday and ordered Mary’s body turned over to her husband.
Give the body to her real family to bury. None of this "resting with the Kennedy family on the family compound nonsense". Family, true family, will be there for her all the way to the end. Sickness and health. Better or worse. 'Til death do they part.

These younger Kennedy's think we share their grief, instead of feeling for the family that loved and lost her to the familiar Kennedy ways. Too bad they simply don't see how so many of us out here view them: Not as victims on this one.

Note to Robert: leave your girlfriend back in California, and don't bring her to your dead wife's funeral. Maybe the Ahnold can keep an eye on her, while you're busy burying your suicidal second wife and alienating her real family and all.
