True Confessions?

I loved the movie Life is Beautiful (La vita è bella).  I found it happy and heartwarming, a fictional story of overcoming.  I like Sound of Music too.  Schindler's List wasn't enjoyable entertainment, but worthy.  (Better as the book by Thomas Keneally, but I like Keneally's style and don't much watch movies to learn history / critically evaluate the film director's take on history... Who could watch and appreciate John Ford films doing that?)
