America's Rorschach Test
Listen to the clip at the link of Trump talkin' in Texas.
Do you primarily hear, does your ear focus in on: the prison-rape joke, a crudity you just can't get past; or
the big-picture reminder that nobody was ever held accountable by the Supreme Court for breaking confidentiality w/Dobbs; the Boss guy couldn't find the likely lower-level-employee "leaker", and it's hard to trust that secrets in Washington get kept by anyone anymore. Who can ya trust?
Tell me how you answer that question, and I'll tell you how you're going to vote in November. Remember: it was John Edwards, not John Roberts, who correctly observed we were TwoAmericas back then. Hell, we're a polyglot nation now:
We speak in many voices, and hear many different things. If you come from a big enough family, you know: people either pull together or stop fighting the system, at least, if the unit is to advance. America too will come together in time because our individual and collective survival will depend on it.
Right now, we've the luxury to think that as strong individuals we've no need for the others, but the unit as a whole suffers when the trust is gone and it's hard to move forward and rebuild without it.
Go back and re-listen. Maybe you'll hear something you didn't before, and with grace, you can go forward today and find peace in understanding the others you might need in time whose lives touch upon yours.
