Congress Would Need to Declare War Before Defending Taiwan from China... right?

Just checking.  Meanwhile... in the West Bank:

Palestinian prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, whose government has come under fire amid backroom talks about the future of the PA in the post-Abbas era, made a recent rare visit to the Jenin camp.  While there he appeared alongside Fathi Hazem and fighters more heavily armed than the Palestinian police.

He said the fight would continue from "generation to generation, sacrifice to sacrifice", and accused Israel of not wanting peace and intensifying its occupation since 1967.  More than 475,000 Israelis now live in West Bank settlements that are illegal under international law.

The Israeli military told AFP it has carried out more than 2,000 raids in the territory since March "to prevent terrorism before it reaches the Israeli home front".

Maybe it's time for the US policeman to retire, turn in his worldly badge?  Let the locals patrol their own borders without the US taxpayer financing all these "raids"?  Cuz you know we are.  Once a country has nuclear weapons, can't they stand on their own already?  If not now, when?  Too many dependents worldwide gets costly to the taxpayers at home.  And we're really not killers at heart, we like peace ... in our homelands too!
