RIP Jonah's Mum.

She sounds like a hell of a lady. Shine on eternally, the truths you told down here* are part of an unextinguishible fire.  Thinking of you, JonahG.  Carry on for your parents and brother now, with the solid support system (your own family and friends) that you've built up..

Deaths humble the best of us. Even sons of women like this:

     Dear L Dotters.
We are heartbroken. Our beloved Lucianne passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her own home, the way she wanted.  But she has left a whole in our lives that we can never fill completely.

Lucianne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was also a patriot who expressed her love of this country with both political fierceness and penetrating wit.

In that part of her world this site became her home, her community, and her voice.  She also wanted Lucianne.com to endure and she made arrangements that it would do so - just as it has for the past 25 years. The same loyal staff, the same policies, and the same principles. ( And before you ask, her son Jonah will not be involved.  She loved her son without reservation, but they saw politics differently from time to time.  So, we've worked it out.
The Lucianne.com team will stay on and Jonah will stay out of it.)

Obviously, no one can replace Lucianne. But we can carry-on in her name.  We're not asking you to send money or make donations to anything.  We're just asking you to stick around.  We think that's the best way to honor and keep her memory alive.

     Please keep her light shining.

Shine on you crazy diamond, if that's an appropriate tribute to pay to a woman who told and printed the truth -- and was often vilified for it.

Goldberg was subpoenaed to testify before a Maryland grand jury that was contemplating indicting Linda Tripp for having made the recordings of Monica Lewinsky discussing her affair with President William Jefferson Clinton. Under Maryland law, knowledge that such recordings were illegal was a necessary element of the crime. Goldberg explained that she had given Tripp incorrect advice, telling her it was legal to make secret recordings.  Charges against Tripp were later dropped.

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore later set up a webcam focused on the windows of Goldberg's Manhattan apartment, that he called "I See Lucy Cam". Moore's project did not violate New York State's laws. Claiming that Goldberg did not respect the privacy rights of other people, Moore wrote, "`[s]he believes in keeping an eye on persons who are a threat to the country. So do we.'" Goldberg responded by "selling advertisements to be placed on her window for $1,000 a week".

* What happened in Chappaquiddick; Bill Clinton's sexcapades in office,  Prince Charles private valet stories, etc.  Tales that in earlier administrations were not told, for acts -- sleeping with presidents -- that nobody ever talked about, to the detriment of the young women, likely.  Say what you will, the woman Created change.  Maybe she made Feminism stronger, by holding the big talkers (including feminists like Hillary Clinton and Madeline Albright) to their ideals...
