Warning

I don't think people understand how much the playing fields are stacked against the hourly paid, "essential" workers who keep things running so the professionals can do the big work in society...

If your response to worker concerns in Red States (with more and more non-government workers finding their voices in Blue States today too), is that "The federal government sends more back to your people than they pay in taxes," you don't get it...

Workers want to keep what they've earned, not subsidize more and more government workers who get paid big bucks to "administer" the government programs that only some people are eligible for (like energy assistance) but that everybody is chipping in to help pay for with those few extra cents in the utility bill. Ditto food stamps.  If you've got them, the inflation costs can be paid for with government help, but if you don't, that comes from your hourly pay.  Gas too.

You can't keep collecting then re-distributing so unequally.

You really do have to listen to the do-ers, because you know what?  It doesn't matter at all how much people allegedly "pay in" in taxes, if the workers don't believe you really work for your pay, or contribute anything to the collective good of the country for your well-paid expertise.  Nobody denies money to those who earn it and share the wealth.

But when you essentially ask others to pay for wars, social programs for wealth families who declare their elders "indigent" so they don't have to spend for care... well you're going to have an economically lopsided country, where only "jackpot winners', legacies and the hand-selected with connections are working in the high-ranked jobs.

It showing already, the results.  America works best when we work together and respectfully listen to our fellow citizens, no matter how cushioned with unearned wealth or how many hours this week we've put in.
