Honest Question

Can they elect someone from outside the House, outside the political class, to be Speaker?

Someone who is not into the political games, but sees how our country is failing as these people keep playing games?  We really do have grown adults left in this country, not too many -- thanks Boomers! -- but enough mature seasoned professionals, who have enough money and won't go to Washington looking to make more, who could better represent the American people than the current crowd.

Like bring in somebody who's never been elected or had to go through all that to get in.  "Somebody Nobody Sent"  or, failing that...

Just open the damn IRS list of working, taxpaying citizens -- at any level really, but somebody who does their own taxes please, without taking boo-ku deductions -- pick a name, salary 'em up (no added incentives, just the Speaker salary) and send them a plane ticket to Washington and a mandate to LEAD.

If the current crew in power don't like that person, doesn't matter, all the better... somebody who doesn't know how to play the game, because we all know, dammit, those rules need changing. They're being skirted, the rules, under the past House speakers to the point of absurdity.

Don't blame Trump either. This is us:  the American politcal class at its powerless worst.  Why do we still give these people air, and pretend their "work" matters?
