Prince Andrew and the Royal Cover-Up...
This is what's wrong with Washington journalism since the Bill Clinton days. Compromised morals. I don't think the newer generations coming up are so willing to compromise their morals to support such shenanigans, just to remain in the "in circle" and be "rich". (or win prizes for attacking younger women...)
Good on them. Shame on those who would keep perpetuating the past, at such a costly expense. Change doesn't come from those who want to keep their unearned winnings, and are willing to sacrifice up a young mother (36) -- or an assaulted minor (17) in the case of Virginia Giuffre. (Why must the women always pay the price for the mens' sins?) And it takes much more than a hug -- or a bloodied face -- to create the Changes the newer generations are seeking:
This is a prince who needs a hug. He couldn’t get one from his “Pa,” who couldn’t get one from his mother. (Maybe that’s why Charles kept his tattered teddy bear into adulthood.) Harry’s brother, preoccupied with primogeniture, often kept his affectionate younger brother at arm’s length, oddly calling him “Harold” and earning a place as Harry’s “arch nemesis.”
...I have to admit, if it were me, I would have put up with a lot to live through history, to see the end of the Elizabethan era. I would have loved to be bouncing over the Scottish highlands with the queen in her Land Rover, nursing a thermos of Scotch and hearing anything she had to say about anyone...
------------
Would you have "put up and shut up" about how things are handled en la familia? Show me who you are, deep down, in casting the fleeing (former) Prince and his wife and children as the bad guys here... #NotInMyName #ProudToVoteWithTheFeet #ImmigrantNewcomers,FreshStart...
Prince Andrew has settled a civil sexual assault case brought against him in the US by Virginia Giuffre.
Ms Giuffre had been suing the Duke of York, claiming he sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17, allegations he has repeatedly denied. A letter filed to the US district court on Tuesday said the duke and Ms Giuffre had reached an out-of-court settlement.
It said the duke - who makes no admission of liability - would pay an undisclosed sum to Ms Giuffre...
Ms Giuffre, who was previously known as Virginia Roberts, claimed she was the victim of sex trafficking and abuse by financier Epstein from the age of 16. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting a sex trafficking trial.
She said part of the abuse saw her lent out to powerful men, including Prince Andrew, who is the third child of the Queen and ninth in line to the throne.
Ms Giuffre, now 38, claimed the duke, 61, sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17 at Ghislaine Maxwell's home in London, in Epstein's mansion in New York and on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands.
