No More War Porn, Please!

 Yeah, it sucks to be living in refugee housing, quickly thrown up after native homes were destroyed, during yet another "civil war" out there, backed by the finest weapons systems in the world...

... that crumples when an earthquake hits.  "

This is what happens in wars.  The effects...linger.  Don't blame Nature, or God, or... the OtherSide for creating desperation and death amongst the losers.  And make no mistake, people always lose in wartime.  Don't let the "baby boomers" ever convince you otherwise...  War is not a natural occurence. Earthquakes are, but much of this destruction comes from continual wars in the region. 

That's what we're invested in.  We helped "build" all that.

Maybe somebody out there needs to see photos of suffering civilians today, though.  This is how it always ends.  The destruction, the "rebuilds", and the people sadly left behind to ask what their suffering is worth...   Maybe a front-page picture, maybe some purplish words of sorrow... Not regret though.  Never regret.  The West does not learn from its mistakes it seems, which damns us to repeat and repeat and repeat them, until we finally beat ourselves.
