What Happened to the Woman in the Hotel Room Next Door?

With their closed doors and transient nature, hotels can provide an environment for crimes like sex trafficking. An incident in the middle of the night prompts a writer to ask what is being done to prevent them.

Stories like these sadden me because they show how out-of-touch our allegedly "best" national me dia are in understanding what is happening daily in their country, and how it got this way.  Same sentiments about the recent (already award-winning!) story that "broke" about child labor here in American factories. Don't be proud about what you've finally learned. Hang your heads for not doing something along the way and letting it get this way...  Connect the dots from the BigPicture policy issues we've put on hold (immigration, poverty, lack of care/free will for many vulnerables) to what is happening.

An obsesssion with the trivial things in life really means an ignorance of reality.  * (= nobody really gives a damn about the quality of the pillows Nancy Pelosi was able to procure for the precious heads of her "leaders"all those years... She failed us at the borders, establishing a workable immigration system. Labor and wage equity, nevermind workplace regulation, are shot here at home post NAFTA, and MiddleClassAmerican values denigrated.  And... she's still in the show!!)

Something gotta give. We can't rely on news reporters accidently staying in hotel rooms and having their sleep disturbed to alert those currently buffered to what's really happening in life offscreen.
