Frampton Comes Alive!

or, the Boomers finally have an Original Thought! *

Here's my radical idea: Give up on attacking Trump, the person, and engage with the substance of his policy arguments. Act as if he's a completely ordinary politician — pose as if you felt neutrality toward him personally — and engage with the ideas.  ~ann althouse/

* Sadly, you have to let them think they came up with this idea theyselfs.
They don't want anyone ... under them telling them there really is a better way of doing things, (and yes, it's the old ways you once rejected with a modernist spin**...)

Of course you should engage with Ideas, even with Despised Outsiders who have ventured unvetted into what once was the province of the Ivory Tower denizens.

**  Remember how long she counseled the country to ... "wait, wait for civil rights, gay people."  Wait until when the BigPeople who make these decisions decide is time -- time to address these issues and fight for freedoms for all and... win!

The thing is, politics in AMerica is not a genteel sport, where the (alleged) meritocrats tap jackpot winners on the shoulder with the scepter, telling them they have won, and now have the connections to access the kingdom.  There's no baton to pass in the sport of fighting for rights and freedoms.

It's the opposite, in fact.  There's honesty, and a long-simmering need to address the problems coming to a boil. Don't look to the people who have allegedly been in leadership for the past decades to suddenly discover they are going to guide us to the kingdom...

Framptom Came Alive in 1976.   That was the Boomers' prime to be exploring new ideas and developing the future they wanted to inherit for themselves.  We're a long way past 1976.  And your ideas have come to pass already...

(Look around, hush up now, and let the people coming up under you fix what you've broken and rein in the losing winners you have selected to be on the top in our shared society... admit it: the ones you've elected already have led us here. We are not going back to the BushMan days no matter how fearful the formerly towered ladies get.)
