News of the Day: SOMEbody bluffin'.

((I think the U.S. did itself a disservice when it bought into this idea that ongoing wars are a normal and necessary cost of doing business in the world today, and that warring is simply a strategic way for policymakers to accomplish their goals at the cost of human life and environmental destruction, not to mention the costs of feeding the weapons and "defense" industries.  Plus, we forget how to think and actin peaceful and civilized manners when we simply worship the gun, and think of these maneuvers as merely a summertime... mowing of the lawn...

By the way, don't look now, but history of the Great War of the last century is currently being remembered... The money thrown at that one, the bodies on all sides wasted, all for a few inches here and there in the damned mud.  When we finally figure out that Ukraine and retaking Crimea is a losing game for America -- that the battle for Bakmut is over, no matter how much US taxpayer money continues to be thrown over the corpses -- maybe our politicians will start to focus on America's needs here at home.

Wartime collectively destroys the souls of a society that refuses to ever put down the Gun because our old white wise men are convinced that is what keeps them in power today.  Keep praying people.  We'll overcome these latest "warriors" on the domestic front now here too.

The guns alone will never save us.  The young people understand that.  It's the old people who refuse to admit that and start bucking America up to do the work of pulling her own weight again, and facing the consequences when we don't...  We can't keep resorting to violence and thinking ourselves powerful.  That's artificial, not real, and the rest of the world knows it too.
