Taking something broken and making it worse... that is something Warrior-turned-NYTColumnist David French IS qualified to write on.  We've seen his crew's work in Iraq, and everyplace the U.S. military continues advocating power over life. 

I wish David French would tell us exactly how he identifies today though...  Is he a Democrat now that he's joined the ranks of NYT staff?  (Or just an anti-republican like Bret Stephens is trying to convince us he's changed his stripes now that the American public's undertanding of these neverending wars has soured...)

To me, French is Establishment Republican/ Bush-Cheney Era Military Republican through and through.   Call it old, call it new, call it moral religious men promising a better world though more war and guns and men like himself protecting the women and children...

No thanks.  "As for me and mine, we will follow the Lord."
