It was the Biggest Game Ever~! (and you slept)

People are just not taking World Cup soccer as seriously for the ladies as for the men's game.  You see that, right?  The sportswriters are really piling it on, trying to overpromote the ladies game as if all America is hanging on their every victory (or goalless tie, as it so DRAMATICALLY turned out... lol)

It's like they are pouring all the wartime passion into the U.S. womens' soccer beat, as if lives were at stake. Lol. It is kinda amusing to read, like a Mad magazine parody.

For more than a generation, the United States women’s national team has played out some of its best moments on the world’s biggest stages, in front of the biggest crowds in women’s soccer. World Cup finals. Olympic gold medal games. The team has, over the years, won all of those showcase games, a long line of days to remember.  On Tuesday, though, on a chilly night in the depths of the New Zealand winter, the Americans almost endured one they would never be able to forget, all while their country slept.
