How Does this Game Work Again?

 So if America is financing a tit-for-tat strategy of retaliation in Gaza, how does this work?  Israel was attacked, caught sleeping essentially, and lost 1,400 innocent citizens.  Any eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth...

In retaliation, they have allegedly killed 10,000 and displaced thousand of innocent Palestinians in Israel's clumsy chase to find and kill the killers...

So now, do the Palestinians get to militarily terrorize and kill another few thousand innocent Israelis to even the score? Is it fair to target American opponents, since we essentially own and pay the players on the Israeli "team"?  Explain the rules of the games to me?, because from here, it sure looks like Israel is still losing... doesn't really have the crowd support and is taking her eye off of rescuing their innocent hostages and securing a longterm future for their own.

But they are winning in the body count, so I guess there's that.  Sad to think the American people are now in thrall to Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership, but that is honestly where we find ourselves today.  It can't go on like this forever, you know.
