Japan for the Win!

The country was battling to help civilians affected by a natural disaster (earthquake). A Coast Guard plane providing immediate supplies to people in need apparently misread teh runway directions and put themselves in the path of a jetliner landing...

The competency of the airline workers in Japan should be heralded.  Competency.  Results.  No lives lost on their watch.  People remained calm and orderly evacuated the airplane.  All of them got out with their lives intact.  They did it. Their jobs.  Competency.

One day, pray we know that in America again. That people do not push and shove to advance themselves over others, that we do not discount lives lost as ... not ours.

Pray one day that our public leaders will not be the best at Public Relations, or parroting the preferred narrative, or have the familial or school connections to land them a seat at the head of the table...

Pray that when our time comes, competent people working for the public good will be in charge.

It's the only way we survive in this country, by righting the ship and rebalancing the power so that we have more people on top who are experienced at life, and understand the value of respecting and working with others not their own.  Otherwise, we're just picking jackpot winners for the limited spots on the lifeboats really... this ship is going down if we don't change course and soon.

(America could never have pulled off that evacuation -- heck even with the miraculous landing Captain Sully pulled off a few years back in the Hudson River, people got panicky and jumped off the wing thinking they'd swim for safety.  No way in our country today would the people trust the leaders in power and listen to their directions;  they'd be breaking the rules left and right to try and save "their own" even if it means others die trying to do the same for theirs...)
