The best advice for America -- and you will never hear it from the Jewish-American pundits who have fed themselves on this beat for decades and decades and have no intention of resigning -- is for Americans to focus on the social needs in our own country and to withdraw from funding these wars.
In time, without our weapons, the players will tire of the killings. I suspect many more deaths will occur -- on all sides -- before they realize war is not the answer, but right now, they are all just playing wargames, testing the military technology and foolishly upping the body counts...
Let them play on. In time, enough of their own will be killed they will choose peace. Let more die, and pray for parity in the death counts. Until more Israelis are offered up as those few hundred hostages have been, the people will worship war. Same as it ever was.
