Respecting the Circle of Life...

 For whomever needs to read this:

Black walnut trees > blueberry bushes

Trees>flowers

Think more mature, longer-lasting species over temporal pleasures. Never ever chop down a mature tree so your flower beds will have more sun. One is long-lasting and will be here long after you are gone. 

The other won't last several seasons if you don't water and meticulously maintain. Even Monet's gardens were gone, restored in time when the money and attention were paid, but trees are stronger than that and need no such daily interventions once the roots are established...

(Think of it like parenting that never ends, vs the wiser ones who raise them up, set them free, and let them grow on their own...  Flowers are pretty, but trees are stronger and make it through many more seasons:  they've even outlive you, and there's nothing wrong with that...)
