Stay Off the Ice...

It's been bitter cold up here, but the ice is just not thick enough yet to walk on.  Keep on eye on your kids, if they are typical kids who think they know everything and take risks.  The ice isn't thick enough to hold them yet, and they're going to get in trouble trying to help each other when they get into trouble...

They were on the scene for a long time looking for the one who was brought up from underwater.  It's cold but he was down there a long time, it seems... I'd be surprised if his was a "successful" rescue, and I'm assuming it was a male.

Any old Chicagoans remember Jimmy Tontlewicz? He was our "Baby Jessica in the well" feel-good story, years before that childhood accident/rescue happened. (Jimmy was sledding with his father, fell into Lake Michigan in January 1984, and was submerged for almost 1/2 hour but lived to tell...)
