Gov. Walker Supporter...

unable to see properly out his back window.

We usually don't get such performance-art politics in this neck of the woods...

Between this recall election, and Minnesota's "vote" * up or down on gay civil rights, I'm glad I don't make my bread dissecting such nonsense.  Because, for all the protests of the performance-art-politics people, we're still not addressing the needed long-term economic issues.  In this state, country, or elsewhere...

Make it a great week, people... and as always, my heartfelt wishes for a delightful Saturday, however you choose to spend it.

* We're in the Twin Cities media market up here.
I tolerated the Wisconsin "vote" a few years back, and now here we are again... the same refutable arguments for voting on individual freedoms.

I kind of wish the pro-marriage folks had gone all the way, or at least branded their worries better:  "One man, one wife."

That's a stronger argument to make -- actually addresses the cause of many of the social problems and resulting financial/social offspring that the State is left to deal with in terms of deliberately single-parent homes; second- and third-families created by the opportunity to divorce and start again -- with the State's blessing and accompanying federal/private benefits afforded even non-reproducing divorced unions; and the "cleanup" duty that falls to society, once the couple decides to break their previously recognized contract and essentially abandon the reliance that both parties (and the State) had previously relied upon in granting the marriage union special societal recognition and beneficial privileges.

Hats off to those married couples who indeed do think and act long term, carrying out their end of the contract and recognizing this is no short-term opportunistic venture.  We might disagree on how inclusive the contracts should be permitted, but at least under the "one man, one wife" principle,  there is consistency and an honest addressing of the roots of many social problems.

Hint:  it ain't the gays costing society to raise up their families when traditional expectations disappear and more "individuals" believe they can have it all and put their own personal choices ahead of prioritizing their children and families first...
