Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Cancer Has Returned
The justice announced she had begun chemotherapy in May after the discovery of a lesion on her liver.

In a much, much healthier world than we live in now,
you'd hope Justice Ruth would be able to choose to live out her remaining days, weeks, months with palliative care, at home with family and friends, resting and choosing to exit this life on her own terms.

I understand: She fights, she is a fighter. She will not go down easy. But chemo is painful, and at this stage, likely not promising except to extend her life for a little bit longer... in great pain, perhaps, from the treatment (chemo) designed to prolong her life.

We all make personal choices about our medical care. No doubt, she is fully in control of making hers. But I just wonder, if we were operating in a healthier, less politicized place, might she choose a different course of care, or non care even, at this time in her life?
