Across the River and Into the Trees

 Summer reading list recommend.*

In context, this is good Hemingway. Pre- Old Man and the Sea, it helps if you know basic US History, including the WWII battles and have read much "Papa".  Otherwise, the seemingly clumsy "sex scenes" will likely throw you... "daughter".  Good book though, I spent/d time with it in hardcover, a 1950 library reject. Amazing what's out there, and easily accessible too.  If you think you're stuck only with the reading material of our times, think again...

We sometimes forget the best parts of today's technology are not content-driven.  Don't forget? Books are like friends that can travel with you anywhere, in early daylight, at dusk with the ducks... or even in the harsh light of day, with the glare.

Keep on readin', America. The past has much to teach still.

* Especially if you've just crossed, or soon will, into 50+ territory but aren't popping the nitro pills just yet... Coraje comrades!
