Vaccination Rates of Israelis vs. African-American Blacks
It might be interesting, in the long run, to compare the health statistics of the two groups over time, as they seem to represent two distinct control groups. In Israel, everyone is getting jabbed, mandatorily I think, except for the young young children? Some have likened statistics to a pinball machine -- the virus is out there, bouncing around looking for hosts, and thus, they argue, in vaccinated areas more and more of the new cases will be found also in the vaccinated, since their percentage is so very high.... Just milder symptoms, praise Yaweh.
That reasoning makes no sense to me. The idea of vaccination is to deny the virus a host and to eliminate it in the population, the way the locked down island states like New Zealand have managed to do. Just keep it out.
It does makes sense that in mixed areas, the hospitalizations you see and stronger symptoms woud likely be amongst the non-vaccinated while the vaccinated toughed it out at home, if possible. Stats would show that, I agree.
But again, if almost 100 percent of the population is vaccinated, why would so many people still be testing positive and battling symptoms, mild to severe, if the vaccine was still effictive, as in providing lifelong immunity? Or even multiple years? Seems like... we don't know what's in us, how long it's good for, how it mixes with other natural antibodies to extend protection, how effective it is against the newer evolving variant(s), etc.
So where does this bring us?
Back to personal choice. If many in the more rural b/Black African American population are refusing vaccines and either regionally isolating, or covering with masks when indoors, then yes, many of the more sickly in the population will die. But in time, we could compare the overall health of the survivors with populations like the Israelis, who are putting their faith in the vaccine and boosters.
Will the people who have been jabbed multiple times and survived be stronger than the rural b/Black folk who survived possible exposure, or were not exposed in their more isolated sheltering places, in years to come?
One thing I think is clear: we need to stop with the judgement of other people's choices. Travel if you are willing to accept any risks, and protect other people who aren't going out of their way to meet and greet and welcome you. Think of your essential workers. Do you really need to eat/stay out and be served? Make your choiecs with the vaccines to protect you and yours and don't tell others what their choices should be to protect you and yours or themselves, even. Have a kind heart and be a good role model. Talk is cheap, don't wear that Mr. Rodgers badge on your breast unless you understand, in his time, the abuse Mr. Rogers took from children too. Damn Electric Company kids. Damn realities of life.
Damn egotists who think they always know best, for themselves and others, and refuse to enjoy the freedoms given to all of us, created equal in the eyes of God. If you don't believe the latter of course, you're likely not to ever find a true home here. PS. Long term, my money is on the b/Black unjabbed genetics... You will kill off a lot to make some stronger but that is evolution too. Let the Laboratories of (semi)Democracy have their way with the coronovirus policies too! Personally, I like the islands states with the discipline to lock in and lock out. That's a strong country long term that has the ability to track people like that...
