War Drums Pounding...
Here We Go Again... The people who always want to help the world, who like to pretend we are the only people who can play policeman (how about Germany steps up, or some other prosperous country), have that little 7-year itch thing going on again...
Only we can help arm and defend Ukraine! No troops (for now) just American military support... so we can once again put our dirty fingers on the scale and prolong a swift civil war for years. How well did that work in Syria? How many hundreds of thousands of civilians dead? Better had America not gotten involved, and the merciful end would have come sooner.
America's elite nincompoops like to pretend we have a stake, because they can't tend to their own business here at home. A moral duty, to defend the world, protect the defenseless, and play the role that -- they tell us -- only America can fulfill on the global stage...
Making the world safe for democracy!
Nevermind that their ideas never work. That pouring dollars and guns and weaponry into world markets doesn't make anyone safer, it simply prolongs the natural endings that come when dominant men who understand the geopolitics of their region decide to control their borders, and those they see as theirs.
That's what's happening in the Ukraine. America doesn't have a dog in this fight, except for families like the Biden's whose business interests have entangled them in private interests there, and in China too.
In the coming days, we'll see the Aging NeoCons (no fair to call them young guns, anymore) call fools those of us who know you cannot impose democracy at gunpoint, and who accept that America is not responsible for preventing all the seeming evil in the world, and thereby adding more.
Military might and the doctrine of "an eye for an eye" won't sell anymore. Short of a Pearl Harbor sneak attack here at home that draws America into yet another unwanted military conflict, it doesn't pay for America to ship troops, guns or cash reserves to "defend" Ukraine, where many Russian ethnics reside.
The moralist who tell you only guns and weapons can protect Ukraine's innocents don't really understand how the world works, and are living in the past -- trying to save lives long lost in past conflicts where America didn't intervene soon enough. The weak went woke, and now cling to mass might as their weapons of first resort.
With all the problems America's multitude of peoples faces and with our own defenses diminished by our open borders and vulnerability to biotechnical warfare, America needs to wean itself from the Defense Industry and the militaryobbyists in Washington who make their pay providing up policemen for foreigners.
Don't feel guilty. Study American history. Arming insurgents leads to longer conflicts, more civilian deaths, displaced refugees, and wrecked countries -- environmentally -- after our soldiers have dumped and burned and made their presence known to all living things...
We're done with that. The hawks whose wings have been clipped in recent years will have to accept that not only is America not interested in sending American troops, we're also not interested in getting dragged into an alliance to spend our money "defending" a little chunk of territory we have no business dictating its future.
You know who would be a natural leader of NATO in Europe right now? Germany. Their economy is quite prosperous, and geopolitically, well look at a map of Europe and consider also where the U.S. sits.
This is not our fight, people. Use your voices in conversation and tell your friends, over a friendly wine drink if necessary if that gives you the liquid courage to finally, finally find your own voice and actually use it. Hawks only prey on the weak, so make yourself as big as possible and scare them off already.
Don't weaken yourself waiting on outside forces to arm and aid you either. You'll never win that way.
