Can you spot the copy editing error?
“I’m not living this crisis. I’m experiencing it with privileged remove. I am a witness, at best, to what’s taking place. So shouldn’t I make sure I witness?” writes .
Answer: Somebody was going to write, "by watching a game", edited for space to "in a game" and deleted the "watching" but forget the "by".
No big deal, but apparently nobody is reading the copy and correcting intial mistakes digitally. "by in a game" stands then. No correction.
That's not how you better your game or encourage readers to click the copy by lowering standards. It makes writers look bad.
Added: Or maybe, the copy editor meant to be bad -- and even more inclusive -- by writing "b(u)yin'" a game... More folks playing video games today than watching ProSports, I hear.
Update: Corrected digitally. Thank you. (Don't let it happen again, please. Keep hiring until you are at full staff and such common errors don't continually slip by. "Check Check, Double Check" The James Bennett trial should have taught some of the higher-ups that, dontchathink?)
