But cross train, so you can change careers in time, if they use up your talent and then try and tell you that you don't have it anymore because they prefer to go with someone more their own kind.

Mitch Trubisky was the overrated one.  Chicago pinned theirhopes on him, for naught.

Just last month, Haskins signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh team for his second chance in the League.

"I feel like I can be a starter in this league. I got drafted for that reason," Haskins said in January.

"I definitely believe I have the talent to. I just haven't put it all together yet.

Maybe Haskins had the arm, but couldn't yet read NFL defenses.  Still, imagine if Pittsburg -- instead of stringing him along and then signing Trubisky to his two-year deal -- had been honest to Haskins, and told him outright that this year he'd be competing for the backup job. 

We'll never know what exactly was said at the "training session"* down at Trubisky's house but oh, if only Haskins would have followed Mason Rudolph's lead and stayed away...

Rest in Paradise, young man.  His parents must be absolutely gutted losing a healthy child in an instant.
