Shouldn't a Student Be "Safe" in EVERY Classroom in a Public School...
not just the ones with pretty rainbow stickers plastered on the walls? Legally, I think so. If you're arguing otherwise, maybe hold your roll? What message are you sending students about safety in what really appears to be a fight over putting up ... stickers? They deserve to be safe -- and all students should be instructed to report any alleged assaults, but they don't have special rights to sticker the walls for janitors to scrape off.
Don't make it harder for the gay kids who are in school to learn, who are not suicidal or seeking outside affirmation, and don't need the sticker support to succeed. That's really what is being done here: the infantilization of some students, not all who view themselves as victims, suicidal or depressed even.
Talk about portraying poor stereotypes of a group... This is it.
