 Surely this is a just woman.  

I'm guessing the other woman she mentions in her note to the judge is the juror who complained of being intimidated during the trail by another juror.  I'm sure there was heated conflict leading to the decision, but that's not unusual in resolving hard issues. The justice system worked, like the results or not.
