Think of Tomorrow, Save Lives Today...

In its statement issued on Friday, the Police Department called the episode a “freak event” and said it had determined that the deaths were not the result of “an act of animal cruelty or neglect but a mechanical failure” of the air-conditioning unit.  “The scene was chaotic and took an emotional toll on all that were involved in trying to save as many canines as possible,” the department said.  Ms. Webber said that around 60 people had been at the scene trying to help, but that care for the animals had been provided by people that lacked proper knowledge or experience.  “It shook our staff to the core, our community to the core,” she said. “We’re quite traumatized frankly.”

The problem wealthy people have with understanding life is they miss the basics.  Stop and rest when you are sick. Don't keep going and spreading to others.  Nurture babies and hold them close. Don't expose them to early morning car rides in the cold, because Mama (traditionally the nurturting parent) has to stop the parenting work and rush out to make money to provide for the family's growing list of "needs". (the international travel, the expensive toys, the McMansions, the all-white-except-for-immigrant-ethnic school districts that are newer and more exclusive than the desegregated, diverse districts the liberals support with lip service but do not deign to sent their own children to...).

In some families, the parents still put the children first.  But as more and more check their elders into government-paid care as they do their children, they lose the ability to care for human life.  One day, these won't be dogs being cared for at the scene, but human lives.

You see, we are taking on too much -- too many people who we can't meet their minimal level of existence needs:  Food, water, shelter, clear air and open spaces.  If we don't bother counting the numbers of people here anymore via a legit Census, and we don't keep track of numbers at the border, and we know our homeless crisis is growing as we just do not have affordable places to keep people and cannot override our Constitution and start imprisoning people who have not committed crimes, how are the children of tomorrow going to take care of what they're inheriting?

The working-class can't keep cleaning up after the messes the people in power make.  Today, it's dogs dead.  Tomorrow, these will likely be human lives unable to survive in the conditions we've created for them to live in.

Is the Barbie movie going to provide the answer to how we build a sustainable country for all tomorrow?  Because that's the news they are serving up today, don't cry tomorrow when we're forced to face the hard news we're neglecting today because surely the men in power know best and will protect us all?

lol.  "come on Barbie... let's go party!"
