America's Team? Nah.

Does the American media really believe that Americans see themselves represented or reflected back to ourselves in the women's national soccer team?  I don't think so.

They come across as loud, well-to-do white girls -- pretty much all with the same personality and hairstyle.  If you're not in the "in", they come across as bullying mean girls, to be honest.

Rapinoe is not all that likeable, and the problem is when your skill set can not longer carry you in the field of play, your personality default has to fuel a career change.  Athletes have spent so many years training their bodies, the rest of them often remains at a childish level, no way for leaders to be who must look ahead and evaluate the best course of action for all.

Anybody can win if you choose to leave half the team behind and don't care about the final score in making a name for themselves.
