Wartime in America.
The diverse NYT reporting staff, led by those assembled in recent years handpicked by Ezra Klein and friends, slowly wakes up...
Can we give our national journalists a round of applause as they do their jobs reporting on the important national news governing our country (the United States) here at home? I hear they are especially motivated by the emoji of white women hands clapping...
---------------
ADDED: The Dems have lost their built-in, always relied upon BlackVote because non-White voters are some of the most anti-war ones we've got. War just doesn't pay off for young people like it does for the Old, eager to preserve the status quo that settles them atop our shared society here at home.
"America is an old-age insurance policy with an Army" economist and NYT scribe (Ezra's pal from JournoList) Paul Krugman likes to write, noting our top expenditures in this country are SocialSecurity/Medicare/Medicaid and the U.S. Military.
We snack on our seed corn, and refuse -- in too many states -- to invest in academic education, civic education or settling/assimilate our new workers whom their employers provide only the basics: a paycheck, maybe health insurance... Otherwise, it's on their new neighbors to help them adjust to the weather, shoppiong, transportation, schools, etc.
I think the White reporters liviing in middle-class land on the East Coast miss what is happening our our country. I think the old Boomers who are determined to pass down their treasures to their own offspring still seem to think they control all things in this world. They don't. Let the waking up to our New World begin... Too many of those currently picking the fights simply do not see their own sons as fodder yet.
Life isn't a video game though. There's no "re-do's" in war. No failing upward. No winning after posting loss upon loss upon loss. I think our cultural revolution is long overdue here at home; we've let the most out-of-touch allegedly lead us for too long now, and their children have proven no match for the elevated postions and millions in commissions they have taken for their alleged work too.
We see you, and we vote. Don't be afraid. It's time for Change, at the top especially... "hey hey ho ho Joe Biden and his years of political baggage have got to go!"
