Who is the Officer Who Shot Her, and What Exactly Happened?

Chicago authorities are still shielding the facts from the public in the early morning killing of two on Chicago's West Side on Dec. 26.

Despite all the talk from the mayor's office, in the City of Chicago, there is no rush to provide the public with details.  Just promises that... "it won't happen again".

The five children of a woman who was shot to death by Chicago police have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city.

Fifty-five-year-old Bettie Jones was killed when a police officer opened fire on a 19-year-old man after they responded to a domestic disturbance call. The man, Quintonio LeGrier, was also killed.

Police have called the shooting of Jones an accident and claim LeGrier was being combative toward officers before he was shot.

The lawsuit filed Monday in Cook County Circuit Court includes a claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress as a result of the officer's actions.
In the McDonald killing, it took more than 400 days for the video to be released, for the officer to be charged, for justice to be done in simply telling the truth of what happened...

The clock is ticking.  In any other American city, the people, the press and the public's right-to-know would be demanding that even while the investigation is continuing (and remember, they have the means of dragging this out for more than a year), the basic facts are released.

The public's need to know overrides any type of circling the wagons to protect the bad boy in blue.  But this is Chicago.  And the press today are toothless.

Who killed Bettie Jones?
We need to know... sooner, rather than later.

Arriba, Arriba!  Andale, Andale!
(Go on! Go on!  Up, Up!)
