There's No Newsman in the Blood.
βThe biggest story in the world came to your front door and you left β that to me is insane. You left for your own personal safety and because it made you stressed and anxious.β
A low-level staffer at one of the New Media online publications points out what many of us from traditional media have known for decades, as the business model of news-gathering has taken over the profession.
No longer a working-man's craft, the top men in the news business today quickly decamped to safer grounds when the pandemic and "peaceful protests" that turned into smash-and-grab riots hit their town, retreating with their women and children to summer places to cover the news from afar.

Like with cops -- we don't know how well they will perform until they are under pressure, and then when they are tested and show their true colors and fail their team, they are gone. Never should have been in the profession to begin with...
If you cut and run when the biggest news story in a generation lands on your doorstep, you likely should be serving, safely, on a board of directors somewhere. But you don't belong in the publisher's hotseat if your ass can't handle covering the city heat...
* I suspect this is a throwback to the old days: the men used to send their wives and children to summer up north, while they remained in the city to do business, retreating on the weekends. With feminized roles of late, some professionals now likely think there is no stigma for the men to retreat with the women and children in the lifeboats.

But in some cultures of character, in America, there still is...
Boys, not men.
Not independent boys to men, but protected boys -- with safety nets -- lashed to their women and children for safety, now. They didn't earn it, they are struggling to hide and keep it, and they surely can read the tea leaves of the revolution they are promoting in their pages?
They eat macaroons with their children, we eat Chips Ahoy.
We know America, instinctively, because we live here. They report from afar, and abroad. America is not theirs to lose, because they never won their freedoms here in the first place. Kept men, kept by the family money like the ladies of old. To me, that is not progress for men. But they are safer, surely? There's that.
America is no place for select men with safety nets in leadership roles, though, whether they identify as black or white or other. We need the brave and the daring of those persons who remain standing unconquered in the arena, those who know how to fight, and Win. Not make excuses for losing, always, while the financial safety nets provide them protection from the consequences of their actions. There's no insurance policy like that in life, because all the insurance policy can offer is money. Don't sell out your lives and American freedoms for the safety of insurance money, boys, or inherited family money either. It's really not worth it. Y
Build up your own characters -- start now! You'll be much more vital living off the wealth you have earned yourself, and created yourself, not by cheating others not in your tribe and manipulating markets and professions and thinking yourself clever for having been the first thinkers to sell your souls to create "wealth".
Dick Cheney has a heart beating in him today, not his own. Do you think he is living his best live, or just basically surviving still on what the money can still buy him. Would you want to "live" like that, fellas? or live independently now, while you are still young and your bodies hearty? Promises of safety and security are rarely kept: often trumpeted, but when you follow up, interference from afar is worse than if you would have left people to independently craft their own solutions, without the gunpower and foreign money interferring and buying "shock-and-awe" action scenes that sell papers back home.
Onto the next story then... "Purple fingers, black fists. The Iraq War Comes Home."
