We're All In! Holiday... Celebrate!

When Working for Racial Justice Means Taking Black History Month Off

If we took a holiday... just some time (off) to celebrate... it would be so  nice!  Holiday... Celebrate!

If only the world could work that way, huh?  Fantasies indulged. Cops, teachers, delivery people -- black or white.  A month off in the winter, wow.  It's fun to think like that, but not too realistic...

Enjoy the weekend, though!  Charge those batteries up for the workweek though, because Monday always arrives before you know it, and nobody really working for justice ever gets to take "a month off".

* I do like that Americans are beginning to push to integrate black achievement in the American history curriculum all year, and not call it out for special study only in February.  That's progress, lifting the bar of  lowered expectations and seeing people as equals no matter their skin shade or mixed American heritages.
