Thinking Ahead...

Isn't it true that countries that spend a significant portion of their national budget on military and defense spending -- which can get costly when you are defending... the world -- end up in a poorer position domestically and often crater from within?  Isn't that how the USSR fell apart in the first place?

What if our own involvement in Ukraine (on the heels of Libya, Afhganistan, Syria, Iraq, "Africa", etc.), means recession here at home (as well as globally as crucial supplies are limited), which means MORE domestic unrest (especially in the non-homogeneous states) as civil conflicts rise caused by housing shortages and poor nutrition and health (including mental health) lead to lower quality of life for many?

The more we pour into Ukraine, the more we are crippling conditions left unaddressed here at home.  Biden and the Dems could not pass promised domestic legislation but we have money to destroy another country's infrastructure to prolong the pain of war and provide the false visual of winning?

You really couldn't plan a better way to hasten the Fall of America.  For years, we've had artificial policies that prop up people, with no "check" based on nature.  The oldest of the old still "lead", surrounding themselves with young progressives who are fed not by their own contributions, but by more and more clever ways to get others to pay their way in life.

The producers dwindle, as they see non-competitive others chosen against all odds to "beat" them by the oldsters and the non-competitive wealthy trying to maintain their weak grip on power.  It's just not natural.

And I suspect it will catch up with us.

Encouraging people to make babies that they cannot support and educate, and who need remedial help and "free" programs subsidized by imported, disposable labor.  Reality will catch up... just like the BigLoudLadies who enjoy nice perches today likely won't live natural lifespans, and the victims of illnesses who collect dollars telling their "stories" aren't exactly inspiring strong healthy lifestyles through their well-paid victim tales.

The Strong Survive.  Same as it ever was.   The subsidized might live in peace today, but it's a false peace if they are not using their own resources to support their own.  I'm always wary of those who "win" in hard times whose family members are on the permanent public dime.

Making do with less, and taking care of your own are long-term strategies a lot of women in particular never learned.  Being a mistress late in life is really no example for the little girls coming up.  You're not teaching them any useful skills to take care of themselves independently.   Coasties coast, as they say.
